The TSA exists to support people affected by TSC (Tuberous Sclerosis Complex) together with their families or carers.
Every month about 10 babies are born in the UK with TSC, and an estimated 1 million people worldwide have the condition. Some will be diagnosed very early in life while others may not be diagnosed until later childhood, adolescence, or adulthood. It is estimated that up to 11,000 people in the UK live with TSC.
TSC is a rare genetic condition that causes non-cancerous growths to develop in different organs around the body, such as the brain, eyes, heart, and skin. Issues caused by TSC are as a result of the growths developed due to the condition. Common problems from TSC can include epilepsy, autism, learning difficulties and kidney problems. However, the way that TSC impacts on a person’s life can vary considerably.
You can choose to support the TSA’s work; helping them to provide vital support and to reach even more people who are affected by TSC.Your gift will also actively support progress in research into the causes,diagnosis, management, and treatment for this rare condition.
